He was predeceased by: his parents, Kalman Gerencer and Rose Gerencer (Fazekas); his wife Elizabeth Marva Gerencer; his granddaughter Elizabeth Gerencer; his siblings, Frank Gerencer, Rose, George Gerencer, Steve Gerencer, Tony Gerencer, Kalman Gerencer, Coleman Gerencer, Kate, Margaret and Bill Gerencer; and his close friend Beth Austin.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Gerencer (Debra), Susan Sturgis, Karen Force (Rick), Bernie Gerencer (Laura), Tom Gerencer (Laurie), Chris Gerencer (Cary), Annie Pascoe (Doug), Alan Gerencer, Andrew Gerencer (Rick Gregory) and Julie Nelson (Jeremy); and his brother Louie Gerencer. He is also survived by twenty one grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren.
