He was predeceased by: his parents, Clare Chappel and Harriet Chappel (Morse); his son Timothy Scott Chappel; his great grandchild Michael Bradley; and his brothers-in-law, Lawrence Langley and Gary Christner.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Chappel of Kinde; his children, William Jr. Chappel (Rose) of Bad Axe, Kevin Chappel of Pinnebog, Star Langley (Ken Craig) of Caseville, Terri Born (Randy) of Elkton, Cozette Ryan (Willis) and Ted Chappel (Anita) of Filion; and his siblings, Marjorie Langley of Arlington, Janet Christner of Gilbert, Judy Stokan (Richard) of Bad Axe and John Chappel of Elkton. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-one great grand-children.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to be used at the family's discretion.
