He was predeceased by: his father Phillip Capling; his grandson Kyle Capling; his daughter-in-law Michelle Capling; his brother Phillip Capling; his brother-in-law Bill Kelley; his sister Mary Ellen Brewster; and his brother-in-law Bob Brewster.
He is survived by: his children, Megan Capling (Dean Deering) of Bad Axe, Peter Capling II of Manchester, Todd Capling (Alyssa) of Bad Axe and Kristen Capling (Naeem Haider) of Williston, Vermont; his grandchildren, Kelsey, Kali, Sean, Kora, Morgan Capling, Kamran, Amira and Soriah Haider; his great grandchildren, Orion Fibranz, Preston and Parker Capling; his sister Sue Seymour (Bat); his siblings-in-law, Faith Capling, Nancy Kelley and Mark Bearss (Charlotte); and his pet Cindy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
