It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Christopher Scott Strayer (Augusta, Michigan), born in Lansing, Michigan, who passed away on August 25, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Strayer and Dianne Strayer (Mercy); his stepmother Charmaine Strayer; his grandparents, Inez Mercy, Ralph, Lena Strayer and Charles; and his aunts and uncles, Lee Gardner, John Mercy, Gary Strayer, Carol Meine and Judy Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Michelle Lynn Peavey; his children, Justin Christopher and Lindsey Michelle; his sister Cathy LaClear (Matt); his stepsiblings, Matt Forshee (Kathy) and Lorie Freelan (Norm); his mother-in-law Linda Peavey; his sister-in-law Melissa Peavey; and his friends, Larry Durrance, Matt Ramon, Jennifer Wilson (Tharp) and Tom Rondon. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
There will be a military burial service at Ft. Custer in Augusta, MI on September 16, 2020 at 1:00 p. m. Due to covid-19 we will plan a celebration of his life at a later date.
