He is survived by: his wife Valerie Silkworth (Wymer); his son Sean Silkworth (Amelia); his grandchildren, Andy, Nolan, Christopher, Jacob, Margaret and Claire; and his brother Jerry Gates of Georgia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
