He was predeceased by: his father Richard Spies Sr.; his son Richard Spies III; his parents-in-law, Phyllis Whitten and Larence Whitten; and his grandson Trevor Spies.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Spies; his children, Kenneth Spies of St. Paul, MN and Angela Bussinger (Tyler Radka) of AuGres; his mother Annabelle Spies of Lapeer, MI; his siblings, Kenneth E Spies of Lapeer, MI, Sharlene Sheperd of Lapeer, MI and Linda Seaman (Scott) of Lapeer, MI; and his grandchildren, Savanna, Isabella, Matthew and Michael Bussinger. He is also survived by several nieces/nephews, and all the many treasured friends.
