With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charlres Lenwood Bates Sr. of Attica, Michigan, born in Mannington, West Virginia, who passed away on April 9, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Bates and Madge Bates (Waters); his son Ralph Bates; his sisters, Shirley, Peggy and Pam; and his daughter-in-law Krystal Bates.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Bates of Attica; his children, Yolanda Azelton (Chris) of Lapeer, Charles Bates, Jr. (Carol) of North Carolina, Robert Bates of Peck and Candace Moyer (Dan) of Traverse City; and his grandson Larry Judd. He is also survived by Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.
