He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Sewell and Zonnie Sewell (Bell); and his siblings-in-law, Kathy, Margaret, Stanley and Tommy.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sewell (Spalding) of Atlanta; his daughters, Janice Tyler (Kenneth) of Grass Lake, Theresa Sewell of Lansing and Cynthia Sewell of Atlanta; his grandsons, Kenneth Tyler (Kayleigh Fletcher), Steven Tyler (Katy Lair) and Owen; his great grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Lincoln and Maddison; and his sister Thelma Hartz of California.
