He was predeceased by: his parents, David Chivis and Daisy Chivis (Medawis); and his wife Ruth Ann Bailey. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Onyleen Zapata of Battle Creek, Ofelia Zapata of Athens and Owyn Zapata of Athens; and his great grandchildren, Zailah and Delilah Zapata. He is also survived by his one sister and many nieces and nephews.
