He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joseph and Beatrice Augusta Mayer (Freidel); his siblings, William Mayer, Gary Mayer, Joseph Mayer, Eldon Mayer, Paul Mayer, Marjorie Orr and Jeannine Hopkins; and his stepgranddaughter Jasmine Sheets.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his stepchildren, Joel Sheets, Jill Gross (Brad) and Janine Palmer (Tim); and his grandchildren, Brandon, Jared, Nick, Jon, Lauren and Sydney. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
