He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Seals and Helen Seals (Mathis); his wife Ruth Shirley; his grandson Wesley DeJong; and his great grandchild Liam Doherty.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. James, Sandy Seals of Grayling, MI, Dr. Robert, Nancy Seals of Carson City, MI, Susan and Wes DeJong of Hessel, MI; his sister Barbara (Randal Lemastus); his grandchildren, Wade, Krista Seals, Jay, Alice Seals, Sarah, Patrick Doherty, Ashley Seals, Adam Seals and Allison Seals; and his great grandchildren, Evan, Maggie, Declan Doherty, Vivian and Lincoln Seals.
Memorials may be made to the James & Ruth Seals Scholarship fund at Alma College.
