He was predeceased by: his parents, Bronisław Walasek and Kazimiera Walasek; and his brother Wojciech Walasek of Warsaw, Poland.. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Walasek; his daughter Marta Watson (Eric); his grandchildren, Izabela and Hunter of Greensboro; his son Marcin "Martin" Walasek (Meghan Armstrong); his grandson Maximilian of Ann Arbor, Michigan; his brother Jerzy Walasek; and his nephew Maciej Walasek of Warsaw, Poland.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Polish Language Center of Ann Arbor to help promote the learning of the Polish language and culture to future generations, including his grandchildren.
