He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Fitzsimons and Lillian Fitzsimons (Nelson); his wife Jean (Sierpien); and his siblings, Bill and Joan Gordon.

He is survived by: his sons, Kevin (Christine Robertshaw), Patrick and Tim (Tricia Magante); and his grandchildren, Kate, Morgan, Sean, Nicolas and Connor.
