He was predeceased by: his parents, Dimitrios Roumanis and Panagiota Roumanis; and his brother Ilias Roumanis (Anastasia). He is survived by: his children, Dimitri Roumanis and Aphrodite Papanastasopoulos (Konstantinos); his siblings, Eleni Michos (late Niko), Yiannis Roumanis (Vivi) and Thanasis Roumanis (Sophia); and the mother of his children Iris Isabelle Pamphilis Haines. He is also survived by friends and family.
Sam, as a former Vice President of the Modern Greek Foundation, helped establish the Modern Greek Department at the University of Michigan.
