He is survived by: his children, Vaughn Swartz (Kelley) and Samuel Swartz (Jori); his grandchildren, Ari Swartz, Alexandra Swartz, Andrew Swartz, Liam Boyle, Ellen Boyle and Karen Boyle; and his siblings, Irving Swartz (Nancy), Shelly Denes (George) and Ellen Rosenthal (Douglas). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

In the last year of her life he made several visits to her home with the wonderful dialysis team. He carried all of us through the last week of her life with such grace and compassion. I know that Mom and him are laughing together now. He will be forever Treasured and missed.”

He married my high school classmate and world's sweetest person, June, and I loved them both. I was just telling Richard stories to my daughter who googled him and found the shocking news.
