He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Darwin and Helen Darwin; and his brothers, William and Arnold. He is survived by: his wife Susan McPherson Darwin; his children, Victoria Darwin Rushton, Anna Hamill, Sarah Inderhees and James Inderhees; and his grandsons, Richard Rushton, Ryder Rushton and Garrett Hamill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
