He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Harrison and Marjorie Joan Porter (Newton); and his siblings, Nina Cavender and Terry Porter. He is survived by: his significant other Kathy Cavender; his son John Jay Porter (Melissa) of Jackson; his granddaughter Autumn Porter (Isabella Johnson) of Pleasant Lake; and his half-sister Jean Marie Smith of Punta Gorda, Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
