He was predeceased by: his parents, Vaughan Elder Smith and Nancy Francis Smith; and his sister Barbara Kaiser. He is survived by: his sister Katherine Emery; his wife Sandra Lee Smith; and his grandchildren, Zachary Scott Smith (Desi) of Puerto Rico, Joshua Vaughan Smith of Colorado, Madison Lee Smith and Lauren Gayle Smith of Canton.
Jim will be buried at the Washtenong Cemetery and gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to either his church.
