Frederick E. Harris III Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frederick E. Harris III in Ann Arbor, Michigan, who passed away on January 14, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Harris and Margaret Harris of Grosse Pointe; and his daughter Anne. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Smith; his children, Amy and David (Melissa); his sister Wendy Barhydt; his grandchildren, Brittany (Branden), Noah (Priscilla), Papillon, Toben, Alexandra, Cameron and Maya; and his great grandchildren, Isabella, Jackson and Ruby.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, Inc. (4061 St Clair Hwy, East China, MI 48054). A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In 1972 he was hand selected by General Mark W Clark to become the youngest member of the Board of Directors for the Citadel Development Foundation. He stayed active in the foundation and later served as the Chairman of the Board as well as the Chairman of the Foundation's Executive Committee for many years.
