He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolf Isador Meneghini and Julia Martha Meneghini (Stefon); and his pets, Buddy and Don. He is survived by: his wife Linda Meneghini (Rosenberg); his children, Angela Spencer (Mark) of Ypsilanti, Michael Meneghini (Kara Cooper) of Chicago, Anthony Meneghini (Jenna Grunder) of Linden and John "Gino" (Brandy Bargert) of Belleville; his granddaughter Cora Spencer; his siblings, Julie Ignasiak (late Larry), Joe Meneghini (Janet) and Cindy Tracey (Rick); his sisters-in-law, Lee Meneghini (late Jim) and Karen Meneghini (late Bob); and his pet Riley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Don's name may be made to ALS of Michigan, which greatly supported Don and Linda throughout Don's ALS progression.
