He is survived by: his son Theodore Smith (Ann Yaroch) of Kalamazoo; his parents, Norman Lowell Smith and Nancy Jane Smith (Gustafson) of St. Ignace; his brother David Smith (Dawn) of Portage, Michigan; his niece Miette Smith; and his nephew Quinlan Smith. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial donations in Dennis' memory may be left to the family to aide with funeral expenses.
