He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Waltjen and Jane Waltjen; his wife Susanne Waltjen; his daughter Christine Weglowski; his daughter-in-law Bridget Waltjen; and his siblings, John Waltjen and Jacqueline "Jackie" Rutkowski.
He is survived by: his son Richard Waltjen; his son-in-law Greg Weglowski; his grandchildren, Jordan Waltjen, Alexander Waltjen, Carson Amezcua and Zackary Amezcua; his stepgrandson Christopher Dorsch (Susanne); and his close friend Marguerite Rysse.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Nie Family Funeral Home, Liberty Road Chapel (3767 W Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Bethlehem Cemetery (2801 Jackson Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103).
