He was predeceased by: his former wife Lois Young; his grandson Moses Ewing; his parents, Gay Young and Freda Young; and his sister Betty Postma.

He is survived by: his wife Jean; his son Mark Young (Jessica); his grandchildren, Jonah, Jeremiah, Samuel and Angie Ewing (Mitch); his great grandchildren, Gabriel, Grace, Benjamin, Abraham, Ezra, Asher, Silas, Elisabeth, Uriah and Rosemary; and his siblings, Stephen Young (Julie), Tim Young (Cathy), Debby Watkins (Mike) and Tom Young (Geri).

Contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church in Allegan, MI.
