He was predeceased by: his wife Myrtice Lee (Werner); his daughter Jamie Annette Winter; his son-in-law James Lee Higgins; and his grandson James Lee Higgins Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Renee Higgins and Mickey (Rick Bidwell); his son-in-law Steve Winter; his grandchildren, Ashley Kooienga (Curt), Heather Almy (A. J.), Zachary Droog (Rachael), Jax Droog (Tori), Jaydyn Winter, Jessica Daniels (Jimmy), Rick Jr. Bidwell (Lindsay) and Matthew Bidwell; his granddaughter-in-law Jen Higgins; his siblings, Sandy Welch, Pam Wickering (Mark) and Ron Kerkstra (Clara); and his sister-in-law Allyson Anderson (Michael). He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (4646 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, MI 49508). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
