He was predeceased by: his father John Shupert; his wife Sally Kendziorski; his children, Sally Ann and Girard; his granddaughter Arianna Shupert; and his brothers, John and Louis of Alpena.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann LeClair (Ed) of Webster Groves, MO, Randy Shupert (Kathy) of Alpena, Bill Shupert (Kendra) of Alpena and Patrick Shupert (Gina) of White Lake, MI.; his grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Jeff, Kristi, Kayla, Alyssa and Savannah; and his sister Marion Baryo. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
