She was predeceased by: her daughter Kelly McKay. She is survived by: her daughters, Aileen Kalis (Wayne) and Betty Obuchowski (James); and her brother Arlie Cooke (Doris). She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.

“I remember Karen for her laughter. She, I and her Aileen would go to our cottage each year. It was so fun and Karen loved it. We played Uno, worked puzzles and danced in the great room. As a gift, Karen hand crocheted (or knitted) a bedspread for a full-size bed at the cottage. It took great skill and patience to create such a beautiful gift. I treasure it. She will be missed but since I can still hear her laughter, her spirit is with us forever. Joanne and John Westman”
