He was predeceased by: his parents, Iva Cornelius and Maurice Cornelius; and his brother Thomas Cornelius. He is survived by: his stepson Chris; his son-in-law Lenny; his wife Jeanne Cornelius; his children, Clay Cornelius (Danielle), Darby Hinkley (Justin) and Kyla Avery (Lenny); his stepchildren, Sarah Benson (Andrew), Christopher Ratliff (Nicky) and David Ratliff (Sarah); his stepmother Donna Cornelius; and his grandchildren, Mason Hinkley, Abigail, Jael, Jordan, Jerusalem Cornelius, Juliana, Brielle Avery, Harvey, August, Rosemary Benson, Maximus, Maverick Ratliff and Lillian Ratliff.
