He was predeceased by: his parents, William O'Neil and Edna O'Neil (Fredrickson); and his siblings, Doris Lynn Burns, Sharon Pebble and Bob O'Neil.

He is survived by: his wife Maralyn; his children, Mike O'Neil (Darlene) and Patti Roznowski (Leonard); his grandchildren, Scott O'Neil, Todd O'Neil (Michelle), Eric O'Neil (Ali Hohman), Jason Roznowski and Jessica Sumerix (Nathan); his great grandchildren, Emily, Devin, Branden, Marlie, Hunter, Lily, Brody, Austin and Hudson; and his siblings, Donna Sue Nevins, Bill O'Neil and Peter O'Neil (Esther). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Interment: Long Rapids Cemetery, In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alpena Senior Citizens.
