He was predeceased by: his niece Heather Gapske; and his grandmother Roma Bates. He is survived by: his parent Marlene Bertrand (Bates); his sister Vanessa Gapske Jr. (Dave) of Alpena, MI; his niece Kristy Hobbs; his grandson Kaleb; his stepchildren, Jeffey, Heather and Nathan; his niece Amber Gapske (Neal Turpen); and his great-nephew Colton.
