He was predeceased by: his sister Lois Frantz (Fred); and his wife Ruth. He is survived by: his children, Sandy Carpenter (Steve) of North Carolina, Jim of Hillman and Mark of Alpena. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
