It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Irene Plachta of Alpena, Michigan, born in Gaylord, Michigan, who passed away on July 2, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Tomaski and Helen Tomaski (Kuzmik); her husband Edward Plachta Jr.; her son Ronald Plachta; and her brother Floyde Tomaski.
She is survived by: her children, Gregory Plachta (Kristine), Marie Witt (Donald), Walter Plachta (Theresa) and James Plachta (Lisa); and her sisters, Genevieve Whittaker and Patricia Gardner (Dave). She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
