He is survived by: his wife Jean Schultz; his children, Jacob Johnson (Allison), Jeremy Johnson and Jessica O'Neil (Jesse); his grandchildren, Nathaniel LeTourneau, Allen Johnson, Hunter O'Neil, Ethan Johnson, Ellora Johnson and Estella Johnson; his sister Debra Koval (Bryan); and his mother-in-law Norma Schultz.

“Jean , jacob, jeremy, and jesse, i am so sorry to hear about the passing of denny. I met denny in the mid 80's when troop 92 came to camp tapico for summer camp. After spending time with both ken and denny we started the founder's camporee in 1987. The camporee went on to be a great tradition for 20 years. I have many great memories of denny from sitting on santa's lap, cooking in the kitchen, and the love he showed for his fellow scouts and scouters. God bless you all.”
