He was predeceased by: his brother Mike; his grandson Daniel Hippensteel; and his sisters-in-law, Ellen and Sue. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Frank; his daughters, Lori Mason (Raymond), Lisa DeCare (Raymond) and Karen Hippensteel (Jason); his brothers, Roy and Larry; his sister-in-law Nancy; and his grandchildren, Caleb, Baele Mason, Rachelle Rouleau, McKenna, Logan DeCare, Ariana Belanger, Kayli and Lillian Hippensteel.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Anne Catholic Church (817 Sable St, Alpena, MI 49707). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
