We are sad to announce that on May 1, 2020, at the age of 100, Carl Basel (Alpena, Michigan) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carl Basel to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his wife Helen B. Ligawy; his parents, Charles Basel and Minnie Basel (Brandt); and his siblings, Gertrude, Anita, Yvonne, Ruth and Amos. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews.

Mr. and Mrs. Basel have endowed scholarships to Alpena Community College and further endowed scholarships to MSU through the Community Foundation of NE Michigan.
