He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Lerma and San Juanita Lerma (Rosales); his spouse Isabel Vargas; and his son Roberto Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Juanita Lerma, Diana Jimenez and Juan Miguel Lerma; his grandchildren, Gabriel Aranjo and Annette Aranjo; his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Cicely, Giovanni, Yahaira and Natalia; and his sister Socorro Lerma.
