He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Carson and Helen Carson (Bayliss); his brothers, Robert and Daryl Carson; his son-in-law Woodburn Vining; and his great grandchild Brayden Wale.
He is survived by: his wife Dixie Lee Opdycke; his children, Mark Carson (Lynae) of Merrill, Sheila Carson Vining of Alma, Melissa Denman (Steve) of Alma, Cindy Carson of Alma and Lura Carson of Alma; and his grandchildren, Derek DeVerney, Daryl DeVerney (Tonya), Gerritt Bott (Chelsea), Autumn Parshall (Ryan), Richard Carson (Lynn), Jacob (Nicole), Sophia (Austin), Zebulun (Marissa) and Kurt Wentz. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
