Nancy Ann Dobson Obituary

Nancy Ann Dobson, 73, of Harrison, passed away at Mid-Michigan Health in Alma on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Funeral services will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Laingsburg Chapel on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Pastor Steve Evans will officiate with burial to follow at Rose Cemetery in Bath, MI. Nancy was born in Lansing, MI on March 24, 1948, the daughter of Wellington & Viola (McConnell) Sanford. She graduated from Haslett High School in the class of 1966 and received her Associates Degree in college. On September 28, 1985 she married Clarence (Butch) Dobson in Varysburg, New York. Nancy was a professional secretary for the New York Corrections Prison. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, member of the Brown Corners United Brethren Church of Clare, MI, Prayer Warrior office manager, member of Sowers Ministry.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Butch Dobson, children: Terry Eugene (Kelly) Gillespie, Jr. of Webberville, MI, Danielle Gillespie of Rapid City, MI, Courtney (Chad) Judd of Batavia, NY, grandchildren: Brianna McPherson of Kalkaska, Eli & Lilly Gillespie of Webberville, Colton Judd of Batavia, NY, her mother Viola of Laingsburg, siblings: Linda Sanford of Laingsburg, James (Nyleta) Sanford of Laingsburg, Mark Nielsen of St. Johns, step-siblings; David (Sandy) Turner of Hubert, N.C., Cathy Crewson of N.C., Debbie (Steve) Parsons of N.C., Michael Turner of N.C., Gordon Turner of N.C., nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws. Good friend and cousin, Phyllis Ray of Harrison. She was predeceased by her father, Wellington Sanford, step father Lee Nielsen, brother James Nielsen.
