Marcus Howard Solmes Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marcus Howard Solmes of Alma, Michigan, born in Farmington, New Mexico, who passed away on September 5, 2020 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Howard Solmes and Ida Marie Hamiliton Solmes; his stepmother Dorothy Solmes; his brothers, Matthew, Stephen and Kemuel; his son Marcus Jr.; and his grandson Gabriel.
He is survived by: his wife Joann M. Heier of Aberdeen; his daughters, Faith (Nathan) of Michigan and Melody (Trevor) of Washington; his grandchildren, Seth (Rebecca), Sheena (Ryan), Dawson (Celeste), Mya, Taylor (Caroline), Evan and Bryson (Tiara); and his great grandchildren, Arwen, Elora, Gwynevere, Irene and Kalmar.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to medical missionary Dr. Seth Mallay (grandson) to help him and his family return to Togo, Africa (Mallays on a Mission).
