He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth S. Houghton; his nephew David Cotter; and his siblings-in-law, Lisa Houghton and Jon Holland. He is survived by: his mother Donna Houghton (Leiter); his wife Kimberlly; his stepchildren, Samantha, David and Bradley Leiter; his siblings, Katie Cotter (Terry), Kelly Richmond (Craig) and Kary Houghton; his stepgranddaughter Hannah Leiter; his mother-in-law Betty Weide; and his siblings-in-law, Rachelle Loomis and Mike Dutcher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
