He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy S. Lauer and Vera Marie Lauer (Bohen); his grandchildren, Niccie Husband and Tommy Lauer; his great grandchild Austin Husband; his son-in-law Randy Winner; and his siblings, Leon Lauer and Wanda Higdon.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Rae Geiersbach; his children, David Lauer, Tom Lauer (Jeanann), Lauri Winner, Philip Lauer (Bev), Doug Lauer (Lisa), Cathy Wisner (Gerald), Karen Lauer (Jenny) and Paul Lauer (Jennifer); his siblings, Bill Lauer and Rosemary Bernard; and his sister-in-law Sally Lauer. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Homes (117 N East St, St. Louis, MI 48880). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at the Riverside Cemetery (620 S Lincoln Ave, Alma, MI 48801).
