She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Nickelson and Margaret Nickelson (Graham); her children, Thomas R Mayes and Terry Ann Lytle; her son-in-law Gary Lytle; and her grandson Zach Lytle.

She is survived by: her son Robert Thomas; her husband Robert Mayes of Alma; her grandchildren, Chad Lytle (Monica), Erin Holzhausen and Thomas M. Mayes; and her brother-in-law Larry Mayes. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

I can't believe how the years fly by. My son Tommy and I I will truly miss you as well his girlfriend Kristi. We have spent many holidays together and I have so many memories. I am proud to say that I am happy I married your son because we produced a beautiful son Tommy born in 1983. RIP Carol❤😢”
