He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Herman Syswerda and Lucile Syswerda; his spouse Jean (Bloomer); his children, Holly Grate (Jason), Shelly Buck (Joshua) and Derek Syswerda (Rebecca Folly); his grandchildren, Elijah Grate (Grace Hovingh), Emelia Grate (Raphael Meyers), Ezekiel Grate, Noah Buck, Zoe Buck, Ava Buck, Ephram Buck, Abraham Syswerda and Theodore Syswerda; his great grandchild Hazel Grate; and his children, Ivan Syswerda, Mary Ellen Sheridan, Maxine DeGaynor, Roger Syswerda, Dorothy Langeland, David Syswerda, Donna Vander Wal, Randall Syswerda, Bonnie Olexa, Connie Meiste, Edward Syswerda and Karel Swanson. He was also cherished by friends, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
