He was predeceased by: his wife Shawn Buist; his parents, Dale Sr. Buist and Joyce Buist; his stepmother Carol Buist; his sister Debra Cohen; and his sister-in-law Sharla Driesenga.
He is survived by: his children, Alexandria Buist and Carrington Buist; his brothers, Dale Jr. (Colleen Buist) and Dan (Karen Buist); his brother-in-law Dave Cohen; his parents-in-law, John and Sandy Driesenga; his brother-in-law Shannon (Erika Driesenga); and his nephews, Zander, Carson Driesenga, Justin, Christopher and Patrick Buist. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
