He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Oakes and Betty Oakes; his siblings, Kathleen Newhof and Brian Oakes; and his sister-in-law Darlene.
He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Fuerstnau (Ronald), Patrick Oakes, Michael Oakes (Debra), Marleen Goodrich (John), Ricky Oakes and Elizabeth Gutierrez; and his pet Chad. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
