We are sad to announce that on May 22, 2021, at the age of 92, Virgil Marion Merchant (Allegan, Michigan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Merchant and Evah Merchant; his wife Esther; his daughter-in-law Betty Merchant; his grandson Troy Smith; and his siblings, Elaine Wood, Beverly Shaffer and Kenneth.
He is survived by: his children, Janet (Roger Smith), Denise (Ron Medemar), Julie (Jeff Fell) and Joel Merchant of Allegan. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the First Baptist Church, Allegan or Kindred Hospice of Kalamazoo.
