He was predeceased by: his parent Floyd Merrill. He is survived by: his parent Mildred Merrill (VanKeuren); his spouse Joyce Merrill (Bowditch); his children, Robert "Rob" Merrill (Jennie), Jennifer Lawson and Jaclyn Johnston (Jake); his sister Mary Merrill; and his grandchildren, Jacob Merrill, Sally Merrill, MaKayla Lawson, Marvin Lawson, Megan Johnston, Macy Johnston and Matthew Johnston. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
