With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Derek Matthew Schanz of Allegan, Michigan, who passed away on December 25, 2023 at the age of 35. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Marion and Shirley Schanz. He is survived by: his daughters, Millie and Billie Jo Schanz; his parents, Timothy Schanz and Bonnie Cutler; his siblings, Jason Schanz and Khrystie Sheffer (Brock); his nieces and nephews, Kenny Sheffer, Bentley, Landon Schanz, Khandice and Khalianna Sheffer; and his grandparents, Gary, Phyllis Rogers and Ronald Cutler. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Derek's name to Merson Church at 3313 102nd Avenue, Gobles, Michigan 49055.
