He was predeceased by: his parents, Sierd Hoekstra and Grace Hoekstra; his wife Florence Belle Herbert; and his siblings, Jose Talsma, Flora Zeinstra (Dort) and Sierd Hoekstra.
He is survived by: his son Albert Jr. Hoekstra (Patsy); his grandchildren, Jon Hoekstra (Amber) and Vanessa Tillison (Justin); his great grandchildren, Madelynn, Owen, Everett, Sawyer Hoekstra and Mason Tillison; his sister Gertrude Hoekstra; and his parents-in-law, Barry Herbert (Linda), Frank Herbert (Kathleen), James Herbert (Terri), Grace Herbert and Marlene Hoekstra. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
