It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Earl Thiell of Alger, Michigan, born in Flint, Michigan, who passed away on July 1, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thiell and Mary Thiell (Preston); his former wife Beverly; and his son-in-law David. He is survived by: his wife Judy Thiell of Alger; his children, Debra Bouwens (Brian) of Lake, MI, Barbara Cissell of Port Orange, FL, Richard E. Thiell Jr. (Chris) of Swartz Creek, MI and John M. Thiell (Roxanne) of Mikado, MI; his stepson Scott Elder (Elly) of Durand, MI; his sister Nina Oakes; and his grandson Ronin. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 from 12:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. Visitation for Dick will be held with precautions due to the current pandemic, limiting the number of attendees at a given time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute.
