She is survived by: her spouse Hugh McDiarmid Sr; her children, Hugh McDiarmid Jr (Karen) and Margaret Baxter (Brad); her grandchildren, Libby, Katie, Caroline, Aaron and Ashley; her great grandchild Evan; and her parents, Alex Lange and Velma Lange. She is also survived by her children, her beloved dogs, and her husband.

Donations in her memory may be made either to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Civil Liberties Union.
